One of the top universities in the world is the University of Toronto. It is a public research university that is located on the Queen’s Park surrounded grounds in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was formerly named as King’s College, an institution where the Upper Canada colony get higher learning. It was firstly established in 1827 by royal charter. The institution was firstly controlled under the Church of England. In 1850, the institution became secular and got the present name. There are twelve colleges comprised in the collegiate university of Toronto. Each of the college has different history and character with autonomy on institutional affairs and financial. The university has a couple satellite campuses that are located in Mississauga and Scarborough.

According to the 2015 Times Higher Education Word University Rankings, it got the 1st place in Canada and the 19th place globally. Meanwhile, based on the 2015 QS World University Rankings, University of Toronto got the 2nd place in Canada and 34th in the world. There are many more achievements that make it as the top university in the world.
